the Idea behind the blog

my intention.

The idea behind my blog is first and foremost to write about the music that I think is worth sharing with you; it will be either new releases or also records that already have been in my collection for a long time but are probably below the radar and still worth sharing with others.

Secondly, I am really fond of getting into touch with other people that want to share the music they listen to with me. If I hadn’t been curious and kept an open ear to the music of others, I’d only have half of the music on my shelf.

who should read this blog ?

Enthusiastic listeners that like to get inspired across a broad range of genres and are curious about the background story behind the music.

Why read this blog?

This blog will cover a wide range of genres. I will not be offering extensive information about one particular genre, thus my approach will not be as differentiated as if I focused merely on one specific genre. My preference has always been to browse through the diversity which the world of music offers and never losing the curiosity of engaging with new sounds.

What do i find worthwhile about telling people about the music I collect?

The music I share is first and foremost presented in how I discovered it. I do this by telling brief anecdotes mentioning people, a place or a time that connect to this particular record.I describe the record in what I hear, either through what impression, mood or emotion it evokes in me.

I feature a background description about the record, its Artists and/or Label. Focusing on the story behind the artist and its music is an essential in handling how I consume and appreciate it.

How do I find music?

I am as attentively as possible: Normally, people I get to know are very soon questioned by me what music they listen to. They normally would refer to the music that really stands out for them which is a great way of finding interesting music. Other than that, I almost use every type of source there is: going to local music events, checking out Record Stores or coincidentally picking up songs through movies, stage plays, bars & clubs. Of course I do a lot of research through social media platforms(e.g. Soundcloud, Spotify, Last.fm, Worldwide Fm) and music magazines(e.g. Faze Magazin, Groove, Juice, Pitchfork) and several websites of labels and collectives.
